1. Rental Agreement

By renting a trailer from A&B Trailer Rentals ("Company," "we," "our"), you ("Renter," "you," "your") agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. This agreement begins when you complete a reservation and ends when the trailer is returned in acceptable condition.

You must be at least 18 years old and possess a valid driver's license to rent a trailer. You must have a vehicle capable of safely towing the rented trailer.

2. Payment Terms

• Full payment is required at the time of pickup unless otherwise arranged.
• We accept major credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover) and cash.
• A security deposit is required for all rentals and will be held until the trailer is returned in good condition.
• Deposit amounts vary by trailer type, typically ranging from $100 to $300.
• The security deposit will be refunded within 3-5 business days after trailer return and inspection.
• Additional charges may apply for late returns, damage, or excessive cleaning required.

3. Cancellation Policy

• 48+ hours before pickup: Full refund of rental fee.
• 24-48 hours before pickup: 50% refund of rental fee.
• Less than 24 hours before pickup: No refund.
• No-shows: Forfeit full rental amount and may be charged for lost rental opportunity.

4. Renter Responsibilities

As a renter, you agree to:

• Use the trailer only for its intended purpose.
• Not exceed the trailer's stated weight capacity.
• Properly secure all loads using appropriate tie-downs and straps.
• Comply with all applicable traffic laws and regulations.
• Not sublease, loan, or transfer the trailer to any other party.
• Return the trailer at the agreed-upon time and in the same condition as received.
• Report any accidents, damage, or mechanical issues immediately.
• Not transport hazardous materials, illegal substances, or live animals (unless approved).
• Keep the trailer clean and free of debris during use.

5. Damage and Liability

You are responsible for any damage to the trailer during the rental period, including:

• Damage from accidents, collisions, or improper use.
• Damage from overloading beyond the stated capacity.
• Damage from failure to properly secure loads.
• Theft or loss of the trailer or any accessories.
• Tire damage (except normal wear).
• Damage to lights, wiring, or electrical components.

Repair costs will be deducted from your security deposit. If repair costs exceed the deposit, you will be billed for the difference.

6. Insurance Requirements

We strongly recommend that renters have adequate insurance coverage:

• Check with your auto insurance provider to verify trailer coverage.
• Homeowner's or renter's insurance may provide additional liability coverage.
• We offer optional rental insurance for additional peace of mind.
• You are responsible for any damage not covered by insurance.

7. Late Returns

• Late returns (within 2 hours) may result in a late fee of $25.
• Returns more than 2 hours late will be charged an additional day's rental.
• If you need to extend your rental, please contact us as soon as possible.
• Extensions are subject to availability and must be approved in advance.

8. Prohibited Uses

The following uses are strictly prohibited and will result in immediate termination of the rental:

• Use in any illegal activity.
• Transportation of hazardous materials without prior approval.
• Use while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
• Towing by a vehicle not properly equipped for towing.
• Off-road use (unless trailer is designed for such use).
• Racing or reckless operation.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

• A&B Trailer Rentals is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages.
• Our total liability is limited to the amount paid for the rental.
• We are not responsible for delays, loss of use, or business interruption.
• We are not liable for damage to your vehicle, property, or goods being transported.

10. Governing Law

These Terms of Service shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of North Carolina. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be resolved in the courts of Iredell County, North Carolina.

11. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms of Service at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting to our website. Your continued use of our services constitutes acceptance of the modified terms.
